Family Fun Day 2011

This past Thursday Jules and I took off work to have FFD since the whole family was in town. We finally decided the night before what we were going to do. We decided to first hit up cafe rio, then head down to Laguna Beach to walk around and lastly have a bonfire at corona del mar. Nate and I woke up and went for a run/bike ( I biked)...we picked a perfect day for FFD because it was BEAutiful!!! We headed down to cafe rio and pigged out to prepare for our beach bods then headed down to Laguna with the windows down bumping! When we got to Laguna we (in Rodney's words) had science class where we found lots of cool crabs and sea anemones. Justin was probably the most hilarious...he was loving it. We layed out and went and walked around shops after science class was over. While walking around Laguna I discovered Caroline's goals and aspirations for life which is to have to most expensive boutique that no one in the fam could afford. We then headed up to CDM where we had a bonfire, ate some hot dogs and smores. We got to the bonfire around 5 so we had a lot of daylight and we were able to see Sea Lions and Pelicans dive in the water. We had such a fun FFD!!! This will definitely be an adventure.

Weekend with Brett!

So this last week my parents went out of town for Alli's volleyball tourney so Nate and I had Brett for the weekend and that is why I am blogging a little late. We pretty much partied all weekend because we never said "no" to Brett which means our days were jammed packed with event after event!!! Thursday Nate and Brett went to Dave and Busters, Krispy Kremes and organized a basketball game with all the family and friends. Friday night Brett had basketball and then played flashlight tag with Andrew and Brett. Saturday morning I took Andrew and Brett to get donuts and when Nate got home Brett and I met him for BWW (Buffalo Wild Wings) then hit golf balls at the driving range. We had so much fun this weekend but my favorite part of the weekend was hanging out with Ruca. I realized that I can t have a dog especially one as cute at Ruca because I CANNOT leave him at home for more than a couple of hours because he is soooo cute! Anytime we were away from the house I would worry about him and feel bad cause he was locked outside. I really enjoyed my walks each morning. While my parents were gone they never once asked about Brett but they made me put their call on speaker so they could talk to Ruca. Hahaha they are like Grandparents! Overall it was a great weekend and I came to the conclusion that Ruca is my favorite family member!

Ok so i have made Friday around 5 my blogging time since I wait for nate to get home anyway! This past Sat Nate told me that we were going on a date...so naturally I asked where. He wouldn't tell me and told me that when we were first dating I wouldnt ask questions and just say ok and be ready---so I didnt ask anymore questions ha ha ha!! I am always curious to see what Nate picks for a date night because it is always interesting. So Sat night I get ready and we get in the car and head towards Newport Beach. Then we pull up to Blue Water Grill and he tells me that we are having a New England themed date....why, I'm not sure he is sooo random. I guess he researched it and it is suppose to be really good. We got there and he already had planned what we were going to order (clam chowder and fish & chips)....I think the best part about the night was how excited he was to come up with such a great/unique date!!!!! He cracks me up. Although I have to admit the clam chowder was BOMB!!!

Geocaching

Hi guys...this is my first post of many to come! Thanks to my Sister-in-law I am officailly going to be a blogger. My first blog post is about an amazing adventure I had with Meggy, Jules and Care. So last Saturday night we decided to go geocaching! Of course the teams were boys vs girls and the rules were that we had 1 hour to find as many geo s as we could. Well the boys (Nate, Justin and Lou) left in a hurry because we soon found out that they deleted the app from our phone- CHEAP! However we didn't let it stop us because with in about 30 mins we found 3 Geo s leaving us with enough time to get water balloons from Ralphs for a little payback :) We hurried home, filled up water balloons and anxiously awaited the boys arrival. The Plan: Megan right by the door to throw the first water balloon, Jules at the garage door, Care on the roof and I was back up coming from the rear. The boys came home 30 mins later than the time we had said but when they got home they did not expect it! We soaked them and it felt sooo good! The best part was that the boys did not find 1 geo!!! Then they made us go look for one that they couldn't find by the Chevron and we found it within 30 seconds. It was a successful night!

Lake Arrowhead

Rachel and I decided take a day trip up to Lake Arrowhead. We left at like 7:30 and got up there around 9:00, because I wanted to get up there early so that we could go for a run while its still morning. So we enjoyed a nice morning run and then we played some tennis and beach volley ball at the UCLA conference center. Then we went into Blue Jay to get a raft from Rite Aid, because Rachel really wanted to just float around in the lake. Before going to the lake to float around we were in the village and we were deciding on a place to eat. So we look around and we both decide that we want to go to McDonald's, now I haven't been there for years, but it is just kind of the place to go in Arrowhead. And it's also two story and looks over the lake. I had the two cheeseburger meal and took it down! All of it! So yeah then we went over to Tavern Bay and just hung out for like three hours, it was amazing! I love the mountains! I mean come on only a hour and half and you can be away from the city up in the mountains, breathing that fresh air, sounds like my kind of place!

Finn and Franco

So it's been way too long since I have put any updates on here! I apologize! Last week my Uncle Scott called me up and asked me to babysit the boys, Finn and Franco! So Sara and Scott went out to Vegas for a couple of days and I had the boys. Now most people would read this and be wow Nate do you work or go to school or anything! Let me justify myself by saying yes I got to school when it starts on the 16th of august and I work 3 days a week and I happened to be off those day. Anyways yeah the first day I had the boys I took them to the beach. One funny story from the beach is when Finn started to run away from Franco and he could not catch up, so he threw up his arms and just started yelling as loud as he could at Finn. Then he started throwing sand up, during this time Finn is still just booking it away. It was pretty funny. Well yeah then we went to Dana's with the boys to go for a little swim after the beach. Dana got them pizza and teenage mutant ninja turtle's, they were in heaven.
On day two we went to Chuckee Cheese and then swimming again at Dana's after. Swimming is mandatory I figured out to get them to sleep without any hardships! It was so funny at Chuckee Cheese when the boys both went up in the tubes with the slides, well they have this huge play area with those tubes and its up high. Anyways so they go up there and I was like ok cool, I can hear them having a good ole time, no worries right. Well then it been a little while and they are not coming down. And I at this time was pretty much ready to go anyways. So then I realized, once they go up in those tubes, they will come down when they want to! Anyways next time I think I will direct them away from the big play place. Well they anyways it was a great couple of days with the boys! Love them

Mike and Jessi's Wedding

Well on Saturday night Rachel and I attended the wedding of Mike Gerrity and Jessi Porter, now the Gerrity's! It was a nice night out! It was at an Equestrian Center in Walnut, which made for an awesome setting. Although I must add that there was some sweating going on as we were positioned in the sun for the ceremony! It was great to see a lot of friends that I don't get to see that often. After the ceremony we had dinner and then danced the night away. That is until this ice cream truck on dubs rolled up serving ice cream sandwiches, diddy reece style, so awesome. Oh yeah I must add as Tom, Jessi's dad, was giving his toast he mentioned some Lebron jokes. He said, "Did you hear Lebron got a new cell phone, one thing is wrong it only vibrates, no rings yet!" or "Did you hear Lebron is writing a new book, it's an autobiography, the only thing is it's untitled right now!" Good Times! Well yeah I want to congratulate Mike and Jessi, they are a great couple, Im so happy for both of them! I still can't believe that they got married, I have known Mike since elementary school and Jessi since high school. Another awesome wedding!
